Founded in 1971, J. Larry Whitfield & the late Swenson Perkins saw a need in our community. That need was to have a detailed, caring and compassionate funeral home to serve the communities of Habersham, Banks, and the surrounding counties. Throughout the years, Larry Whitfield, along with wife, Evie, son, John and the rest of the staff of Whitfield Funeral Homes & Crematory have always provided the most dignified, caring, and compassionate service. Now over 50 years later, Whitfield Funeral Homes & Crematory is proudly serving as the only full service funeral homes in our area, with two convenient locations, an on-site crematory, our cemetery, Yonah Memorial Gardens, and a fellowship hall, The Family Connection Center.
As Everett J. Huffman, J. Larry Whitfield, John W. Whitfield, and the staff of Whitfield Funeral Homes & Crematory continue the traditions that our funeral homes have been founded on, our goals remain unchanged. We plan to serve you in the same way that we want our own family to be treated; that is with the utmost care, dignity, and respect. We believe that each and every funeral or memorial service should be as unique as the life that was lived. In doing so we hope to lighten the burden and attempt to make a difficult time more bearable. We are honored to be continuing our service to our wonderful community, just as we have for over half a century.
