Wallace L. "Wally" Armstrong

Wallace L. "Wally" Armstrong, age 86, of Clarkesville, Georgia, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2017. Born February 15, 1931 to the late William F. and Minnie Ginden Armstrong, Wally was born in Honolulu, Hawaii where his father was stationed in the U.S. Army. As a child, Wally experienced the bombing of Pearl Harbor which he vividly remembered. After graduating from high school Wally entered the U.S. Army and transferred to the Air Force when the Army was later divided. Wally spent 21 years in the Air Force achieving the rank of Master Sergeant serving in both Korea and Vietnam. Wally then worked for Publix Supermarkets in Central Florida for a number of years. A lifelong Roman Catholic, Wally was preceded in death by his first wife, Louise Greenwood Armstrong; and siblings, William, Kathryn, Jeannette, and Ruby. He is survived by his current wife, Gloria Howell Armstrong, of Clarkesville; and a number of nieces and nephews. Memorial Services and Burial will take place in Great Falls, Montana. Arrangements there will be conducted by Croxford Funeral Home.
