Raymond Arthur Harris

Raymond "Ray" Arthur Harris, age 86, of Alto, Georgia passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2023.

Mr. Harris was born on October 11, 1936 in Des Plaines, Illinois to the late Evelyn and Vernon Harris. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert "Bob" Glenn Harris; and sister, Jacqulyn Harris.

Mr. Harris was a United States Coast Guard Veteran. Ray was very giving of his time to others, including the soup kitchen, the Moose Lodge, but most of all his family. Ray very much enjoyed working with wood, leaving many treasures behind for his loved ones to cherish.

Survivors include his children, Timothy Michael Harris, of Alto; Karen Marie Harris, of Sterling, IL; Kevin Joseph Harris, of Island Lake, IL; Janet Lynn Harris, of Ingleside, IL; Julie Ann Munch, of Island Lake, IL; sister, Sandra Lee Miller, of Cornelia; grandchildren, Amber Lynn Bagnall, Jade Elizabeth Kingery, Emily Kay Harris, Samuel Joseph Harris, Lydia Marie Harris; great-grandchildren, Elanor Elizabeth Bagnall, Charlotte Katherine Bagnall.

Graveside Services will be held at 9:00 a.m., Friday, February 17, 2023, at the Yonah Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the Grant Reeves Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Thursday, February 16, 2023 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel.
