Jimmy Junior Rogers

Jimmy Junior Rogers, age 60 of Lula, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, March 12th, 2019. Mr. Rogers was born on Saturday, October 18th, 1958 in Commerce, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Wiley and Dora Rogers; sister, Jacquline Sims Dockins; brother, Preston Sims. Mr. Rogers was retired from the City of Gainesville with 20 years of service. He was a member of Brookstone Assembly of God. Jimmy was an avid hunter. Survivors include his loving wife of 36 and a half years, Cathy Ward Rogers, of Lula; mother, Josphine Rogers Sims, of Cornelia; daughter, Dora Michelle Rogers McDonald, of Mt. Airy; step-son, Christopher Ward; Jeremy Brock, of Gainesville; grandchildren, Austin Randolph, of Gainesville; Alexis Ward, of Gainesville; Ashley "Doodle" Ward, of Gainesville. sister, Yolanda Garrett, of Baldwin. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Lifepoint Assembly of God in Gainesville, Georgia with Pastor Jeff Lovell officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m., Saturday at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations to be made to Brookstone Assembly of God, or to the charity of one's choice.
