Mr. James Thomas Tackett, age 81 of Baldwin, passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel in Baldwin. Rev. Chad Parker will officiate. An inurnment service will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens in Demorest.Mr. Tackett was born May 22,1937 in Norton, Virginia to Richard Cleave Tackett and Nancy Thompson Tackett. He was retired from Davey Tree Company and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Tackett was preceded in death by his parents; his 4 brothers and his grandson, Jimmy Sebastian.Mr. Tackett is survived by his children, Jean Jones, Janice Duke, Jimmy Tackett, Sandra Tackett; stepchildren,Angela Brady and Sherrice Elrod; Grandchildren, Drew, Reagan, Diedra, Harley, Joshua, Nicholas, Adianna, Ashlee, Chance, Malea, Jacob; a number of great-grandchildren and his special Friend and Caregiver, Loretta Tackett.
