Helen Dunson Scales

Helen Dunson Scales, age 77, of Homer, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Mrs. Scales was born on August 10, 1941 in Banks County, Georgia to the late Fred and Irene Ash Dunson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dawson Lee Scales. Helen was a member of the Bethany Christian Church. She was involved with retail sales for a number of years, prior to her retirement. Helen, known as "Grandma" was a loving mother and grandmother. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Don and Kathy Scales, of Homer; grandchildren, Ashley Wehunt, Donna Thomas, Brannon Scales; and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel with Rev. Austin Kelley officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethany Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
