Emma Ruth Wade

Emma Ruth Wilkinson Wade, age 92, of Demorest, Georgia passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025.

Mrs. Wade was born on September 2, 1932 in Banks County, Georgia to the late William "Ben" Wilkinson and Vernece Wilbanks Wilkinson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 69 years, Howard Eugene Wade; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, James and Annie Bell Wade; Louise and Vance Thompson; and Erie Wade. She graduated from Baldwin High School in the class of 1950. Mrs. Wade was a devoted member of Mt. Zion Methodist Church for over 70 years, where her faith and commitment shone through her various roles within the church and community. Throughout her life, she exemplified selflessness, always putting others before herself, even during her recent health challenges. She had a remarkable wealth of knowledge and skills, with a particular talent for fixing almost anything. Mrs. Wade was an avid reader, and enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting. However, her greatest passion was her family. As a dedicated homemaker, she centered her life around her loved ones, cherishing every moment spent with family and friends. Mrs. Wade will be remembered as a loving mother to her children and a precious Nana to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Steve Wright, of Mt. Airy; Revonda and Steve Kimbrell, of Gainesville; Sherri and Ken Cook, of Cornelia; seven grandchildren and spouses, Andy Wright and Carly, Kiley Hooks and Kyle, Brittney Bennett and Blake, Blake Kimbrell and Ashlee, Bart Kimbrell and Allison, Dylan Cook, Haley Hatch and Dan, 18 great grandchildren; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charles and Polly Wade, Demorest.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 28, 2025 and from 2:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m., Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at the funeral home.
