Emily Cash Tidwell

EMILY FRANCES CASH TIDWELL, age 94, of Cornelia, GA passed away, Friday, August 27, 2010 in Decatur, Georgia following an extended illness. Mrs. Tidwell was born in Cornelia, GA on April 1, 1916 to the late Freeman Melvin and Theodosia Luola Perkins Cash. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death, by her husband, W. James Tidwell, son J. Randal Tidwell, 4 brothers and 8 sisters. Mrs. Tidwell joined First Baptist Church, Cornelia, GA on September 4, 1932. In 1959 she and Mr. Tidwell moved to Orange Park, FL where they became members of the First Baptist Church and later joined Island View Baptist Church. She moved back to Cornelia in February of 1969 and transferred her membership back to First Baptist Church of Cornelia and was a member until her death. She was a retired beautician having a worked in Atlanta and Cornelia, GA. Survivors include a number of nieces and nephews. She was the last of her immediate family. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, GA with Dr. Eric Spivey officiating. Burial will follow in the Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, one hour before the service. Arrangements are in the care of the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, GA.
