Donald Bradley Wilbanks

Donald B. Wilbanks, age 84, of Alto, Georgia passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2023.

Mr. Wilbanks was born on January 25, 1939 in Banks County, Georgia to the late Guy Littleton and Bertie J. Lane Wilbanks. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Francis Duncan, Evelyn Amig, Virginia VanSant, Betty Pruitt; and brother, Lane Wilbanks.

Mr. Wilbanks was a United States Army Veteran having served from 1960 to 1966. He worked for Community Banks for eleven years after working and retiring from Standard Telephone Company with thirty four years of service. Donald had also served on the Banks County School Board for eight years. He was a long-time member of Harmony Baptist Church. Donald was also a member of the Cherokee Gun Club as well as Woodmen of the World.

Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-nine years, Joanna Morrison Wilbanks, of Alto; daughter and son-in-law, Andrea and Bobby Johnson, Jr., of Collierville, TN; sons, Jeffrey Wilbanks, of Clarkesville; Todd Wilbanks, of Woodland, MS; sister, Guynnell Creighton, of Canton; grandchildren, Sarah Wilbanks, Erin Johnson, Rory Johnson, Brad Curtis, and Kristin Roberts.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Byrd and Rev. Tim House officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Army and The Grant Reeves Honor Guard.

Mr. Wilbanks will lie in state from 2:00 p.m. to the service hour at the church on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, September 4, 2023 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel.
