Mr. Charles L. "Chuck" Muller, age 83, of Demorest, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2010, at his residence. Mr. Muller was born on December 29, 1926, in Newark, New Jersey to the late Charles and Josephine Rast Muller. Mr. Muller was a member of The Trinity Lutheran Church, Toccoa, Georgia. He was very instrumental in starting the Grace Lutheran Mission in Clarkesville, Georgia. Mr. Muller was a very active and dedicated Mason and Shriner. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, having served in the South Pacific. Mr. Muller was a retired chemical salesman having been associated with Purafil in Chamblee, Georgia and Oakite in New Jersey. Locally, during his "retirement", he worked for Ingles and Belks in Cornelia, Georgia for a number of years. Mr. Muller, in the late 1960's, served as a councilman, police commissioner, and mayor of Denville, New Jersey. He was very active in the Republican Party. Survivors include his wife, Bette Muller, Demorest, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Peter and Judy Muller, Tucker, GA and Scott and Patsy Muller, Lilburn, GA; sister, Eunice Wayboer, Highpoint, North Carolina; and two grandchildren, Charles Muller and Sara Muller. A memorial service will be held for Mr. Muller at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 30, 2010, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 4041 Highway 17, Toccoa, Georgia 30577 with Rev. Peter D. Grana officiating.
