Buford Brock

Buford "Goose" Brock, age 76, of Baldwin, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 following a sudden illness.

Mr. Brock was born on September 7, 1945 in Banks County, Georgia to the late Alvin Pete and Ila Mae Brock. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Carolyn Brock; and brother, Clarence Phillip "Phil" Brock.

Mr. Brock was employed with Martin Lumber Company for over 27 years, and then retired from Habersham Hardware with over 20 years of service. Buford thoroughly enjoyed retirement in his "he-shed" watching NASCAR. He was known to his grandchildren as "Papa" and known to his great-grandchildren as "Papa Brock". Buford was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Bessie "Dickie" Brock, of Baldwin; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Kelsey Osborne, of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Alex Garrison and Kody, of Commerce; Jordan Waters, of Maysville; great-grandchildren, Tucker Waters, Blakeley Ann Garrison, Remi Waters; brothers and sisters-in-law, Leaford Thomas and Frances Brock, of Ramburn, AL; Carter and Rebecca Brock, of Baldwin; Roy and Terry Brock, of Alto; sister, Glenda Waters, of Cornelia; and numerous nieces, nephews, and many other family and friends.

Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 2, 2022 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel with Rev. Terry Rice officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m., Friday, September 2, 2022 at the funeral home prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, Virginia 22116-7023.
