Betty Tench Robinson

Betty Tench Robinson, age 89, of Cornelia, Georgia passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2019. Ms. Robinson was born on Tuesday, July 2, 1929 in Cornelia, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest L. Tench, Sr. and Velma Woodall Tench; brothers, Ernest L. Tench, Jr., Lamar Tench, and J.T. Tench. Ms. Robinson was a member of Level Grove Baptist Church, where she was part of the 'So Willing Workers' Sunday School Class. Ms. Robinson was formerly employed with Chicopee, Baldwin Garment, and Cornelia Cleaners. Her passion was for sewing and doing yard work. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl Palmer and Roy Watson, of Cedartown, GA; daughter-in-law, Barbara Robinson, of Cornelia; brother and sister-in-law, James and Lucy Tench, of Cornelia; sisters-in-law, Maxine Tench, of Cornelia; and Martha Tench, of Cornelia; five grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; aunt, Amelia Johnson; and a dear friend and helper, Hazel Williamson. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel with Rev. Terry Rice and Dr. Brian James officiating. Interment will follow in Level Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home on the day of the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice. The family would like to give a special "Thank You" to hospice and Meals on Wheels.
