Woodrow Woody Flanagan

Woodrow "Woody" Flanagan, age 58, of Cornelia, Georgia, died Sunday, July 26, 2009 at the Habersham County Medical Center. Mr. Flanagan was born on March 3, 1951 in Habersham County, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his father, Vance Flanagan, his son: Brian Downer, his brothers, Carl Flanagan, Leroy Flanagan, and John Vance Flanagan, Jr, as well as sisters, Joann and Audra Flanagan. He was of the Baptist Faith and was formerly employed with Fieldale Farms and Nationwide Log Homes Inc. Survivors include: his wife: Patsy English Downer, Cornelia, GA; his mother: Martha Irvin Flanagan, Cornelia, GA; his daughter: Amanda Jean Bohanan, Toccoa, GA; his sister: Rosa Lee Savage, Cornelia, GA; his brothers: Guy Flanagan, Grier, SC; John Flanagan, Alto, GA; Jackie Flanagan, Cornelia, GA; 5 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2009 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia with Rev. George Dean and Rev. James Harvey officiating. Interment will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the North Chapel from 6 until 9 p.m. on Wednesday.
