Winnie Ward Tilley

Winnie Ward Tilley, age 86, of Commerce, Georgia, formerly of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2016. Mrs. Tilley was born on March 15, 1930, in Baldwin, Georgia, to the late Henry and Alma Poole Ward. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Eugene Tilley; brother, Lee Ward; and sister-in-law, Betty Ward. She was a retired LPN from Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga with 25 years of service. Mrs. Tilley was a member of Red Bank Baptist Church. Survivors include sister, Woodie Ward, Baldwin, GA; brothers, J.W. Ward, Lawrenceville, GA and Roy Ward, Jasper, GA; four nieces; and two great nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 15, 2016, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia, with Rev. Daniel Parker officiating. Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery, Chattanooga, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the funeral hour on Thursday at the funeral home.
