WINNIE LOMAX CROCKER, age 71, of Alto, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2013, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Mrs. Crocker was born on May 15, 1941, in Hall County, Georgia, to the late Slim and Geneva Brewster Lomax. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Donald Smith and Danny Smith and her brother, Phillip Lomax. Mrs. Crocker was a member of Mt. Sinai Congregational Holiness Church. Survivors include her loving husband of 34 years, Virgil Crocker, Alto, GA; sons, David Smith, Dahlonega, GA and Dwayne Smith, Clarkesville, GA; step-son, Terry Crocker, Lula, GA; step-daughters, Shelia McConnell, Cornelia, GA and Amy Carson, Cleveland, GA; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 7, 2013, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia, with Rev. Paul Flynn and Rev. Tony Royston officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Sinai Congregational Holiness Church Cemetery with Mr. Josh Crocker officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, January 6, 2013, at the funeral home.
