Mr. Willie Ray Warwick, age 71 of Cornelia, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, September 08, 2010 at the Habersham County Medical Center following an extended illness. Born in White County, Georgia on March 06, 1939, he was a son of the late Oscar and Iver Jackson Warwick. Mr. Warwick was a U.S Army Veteran having proudly served with the U.S. Military Police in Berlin Germany. He was the owner of Warwick Paint & Body Shop and a member of the Cross Roads Baptist Church. Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Bernice Turner Warwick, daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Barry Davis, son, Kenneth Warwick, all of Cornelia, GA; sisters, Evelyn Freeman, Cornelia, GA; Patricia Weidner, Dahlonega, GA; Brenda Reed, Cleveland, GA; brothers, Claude Warwick, Gainesville, GA; Edward Warwick, George Warwick, both of Smyrna, GA; grandchildren, Adam Blake Davis, Grant Alan Davis, & Kendra Denise Warwick. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 11, 2010 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel - Baldwin, Georgia with the Rev. Roy Lee Mitchell and the Rev. Luther Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. View Baptist Church Cemetery in Cleveland, Georgia with the Rev. Austin Kelley officiating at the graveside. Full military honors will be provided by the Grant Reeves V.F.W. Post # 7720, the Habersham County American Legion Post # 84 and the Rabun County D.A.V. Chapter # 15. The family will receive friends at the South Chapel in Baldwin from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Friday.
