William Albert Pittman

WILLIAM ALBERT "PITT" PITTMAN, age 89, of Cornelia, GA died Friday, August 31, 2007 at Habersham Nursing Home. Mr. Pittman was born on March 1, 1918 in Lula, GA to the late William Roscoe and Fanny Mae Pittman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by, his wife: Mildred Whelchel Pittman; two sisters: Vallee Holland, and Anne Bennett. Mr. Pittman retired after a 43 year career with Chicopee Mfg. Co. in Cornelia. He was a former deacon, Sunday school teacher, and member of Faith Tabernacle Baptist Church, Demorest, GA. Survivors include: one daughter: Brenda Smith, Gainesville, GA; two sons and daughters-in-law: Rick and Christi Pittman, Cornelia, GA, Royce and Maria Pittman, Watkinsville, GA; two sisters: Ruby Reed, Gainesville, GA, Irene Oliver, Lula, GA; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2:30 pm on Sunday, September 2, 2007 at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA with Rev. Bobby Watson Sr. officiating. A private family burial will be on Monday, September 3, 2007. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 pm on Saturday, September 1, 2007 at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA.
