William Norman "Bill" Withrow

WILLIAM NORMAN "BILL" WITHROW, age 86, of Clarkesville, GA, died Sunday, July 1, 2007 at the Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, following an extended illness. Mr. Withrow was born in Polk County, Tennessee to the late Thomas and Lenora Withrow. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Edna Lee Withrow; brothers, Leonard, Ralph, Ray, and Tommy Withrow as well as two sisters, Evelyn Rudd and Alma Stark. He served in the United States Army Air Force during World War II and was a member of the Grant Reeves V.F.W. Post #7720. Mr. Withrow was a retired business owner; he owned and operated Bill's Self Service for many years. He was a member of the Habersham Baptist Church. Mr. Withrow was a 56 year member of the Clarkesville Masonic Lodge #325 F & A M and Scottish Rite Valley of Atlanta. Survivors include: his sons and daughters-in-law: Bill and Cindy Withrow, Atlanta, GA; Tom and Angie Withrow, Demorest, Georgia; his grandchildren: Joel Withrow, New York City, NY; Emily Withrow, Chicago, IL; Alex Withrow, Atlanta, GA; Kyle Withrow, Demorest, GA; Mark Withrow, Demorest, GA; his brothers: Dewey Withrow, Murphy, NC; Sam Withrow, Blue Ridge, GA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 6, 2007 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA with Rev. Matt Thomas and Rev. Charles Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2007.
