William Bearden

May 26, 1929 — March 23, 2007

William Edward Bearden, age 77, of Demorest, Ga., for the last 16 years and formerly of Atlanta, GA to the late Frank Ned Bearden, Sr. and Beatrice Allum Crews. He was retired from bell south services and served in the US Army /Air Corps. "Ed" was a member of Demorest Baptist Church and a faith ful choir member. He was a member of the Masonic Blue Lodge and of Yaarab Shrine Temple in Atlanta. "Ed's" fun personality, music, and Christian heritage live on in his daughter and grandsons of whom he was so very proud. In addition to his parents; Mr. Bearden was preceded in death by 2 sons: William Edward Bearden, Jr. and Jeffrey David Bearden. Surviviors include: his wife of 56-plus years, Sue Vinson Bearden, Demorest, GA daughter and son-in-law, Deborah Bearden and Steven Michael Showalter, Lawrenceville, GA ; grandsons, Ryan Michael Showalter, Blairsville, GA, SRA Kyle Edward Schowalter - USAF, Daniel Robert Showalter and Steven Terrell Showalter, both of Lawrenceville, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Rev. and Mrs. Frank N Bearden, Demorest, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Stover, Canton, GA; sister-in-law, Doris Vinson Southerland, Powder Springs, GA; brother-in-law, and wife, Mr. and Mrs. William Vinson, Stone Mountain, GA. Multiple nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, March 26, 2007, from the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA with the Rev. Tim Bearden and Dr. Tom Mewborn officiating. Interment will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:30 pm until 3:00 pm Sunday, March 25, 2007. Flowers are accepted or memorials maybe be made to the Shrine Temple Children's Hospital, 400 Ponce De Leon Ave. NE. Atlanta, JGA 30535.
