Watt Brady, age 86, of Demorest, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2011. Mr. Brady was born in Habersham County, Georgia on November 28, 1924; he was the son of the late Claude William and Sallie Caudell Brady. Mr. Brady was a member of the National Heights Baptist Church, in Fayetteville, GA. He was a life member of Sinclair Masonic Lodge #194 F&A.M. West Columbia, SC and a life member of the Grant Reeves V.F.W. Post #7720. Mr. Brady was a World War II Veteran of the United States Navy. He was a retired Aviation Air Traffic Controller with 34 years of service. Survivors include former wife, Fran Brady, Demorest, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Randy Johnson, Jonesboro, GA; sisters, Katie Williams, Clarkesville, GA, and Edith Knudsen III, Sunnyvale, CA; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2011, Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia with Rev. Roy Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens with full military honors provided by the American Legion Post #84, Rabun County DAV Chapter 15, and Grant Reeves VFW #7720, as well as, Masonic Graveside Rites. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 31, 2011, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Hospice Advantage, 2470 Daniels Bridge Road, Suite 171, Athens, GA 30606.
