Viringia Louise Dodd

VIRGINIA LOUISE DODD, age 76, of Lula, Georgia died Saturday, April 12, 2008 at a private care facility in Decatur following an extended illness. Mrs. Dodd was born on April 8, 1932 in Gwinnett County, Georgia to the late Calvin Alonzo and Ida Louise Williams McGee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Gene Dodd. Mrs. Dodd was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Life of Deliverance. Survivors include: her daughters: Marcia V. Oliver, Alto, GA; Virginia D. Thomas, Lula, GA; her sons: Larry G. Dodd, Demorest, GA; Troy D. Dodd, Toccoa, GA; Raleigh D. Dodd, Tuckasegee, NC, P. Wade Dodd, Lavonia, GA; 5 sisters, 1 brother, 13 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia with Pastor Elizabeth Christopherson, Rev. Rod Hughy and Pastor Veola Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the Living Mission Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 & 6-9pm on Monday, April 14, 2008.
