Virginia Lewis Goble

VIRGINIA LEWIS GOBLE, age 88, of Gastonia, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, August 15, 2011, at her daughter's residence in Alto, Georgia. Mrs. Goble was born on May 17, 1923, in Cleveland County, North Carolina. She was a native of Gaston County, North Carolina and was the daughter of the late Henry and Lillie Barrette Lewis. Mrs. Goble was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry Goble; her brothers, Raymond Lewis and Bryson Lewis; and her sisters, Mazel Huffstetler, Margaret Nivens, and Betty Roseberry. She was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Janice Goble, Gastonia, NC; daughter, Vicky Thomas, Alto, GA; grandchildren, Scotty Thomas and his wife, Michele, Alto, GA, Leslie Thomas and Jerry Dill, Alto, GA, and Greg Goble and his wife, Angie, Gastonia, NC; great-grandchildren, Justin Goble and Nathan Dill; four step great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 19, 2011, at the Colonial Chapel of Carothers Funeral Home in Gastonia, North Carolina with Rev. Roger Huffstetler officiating. Burial will follow in the Gaston Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 18, 2011, at the Carothers Funeral Home in Gastonia, North Carolina.
