Viola Worley Pitts

Viola Worley Pitts, age 88, of Mt. Airy, Georgia passed away on Friday, December 28, 2012. Mrs. Pitts was born in Habersham County, on April 4, 1924, to the late William and Sally Evans Worley. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Garnett E. Pitts, son, Earl Pitts, grandson, William Pitts, granddaughter, Tina Pitts, sisters, Alice Love, Geneva Carpenter, and Louellen Chitwood, and brothers, Howard and Oscar Worley. Mrs. Pitts was a member of Mt. Airy Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Survivors include daughter, Amelia Cash, Mt. Airy; daughters and sons-in-law, Earnesteen and Joe Brown, Toccoa, and Irene and Ray McAllister, Mt. Airy; sons and daughters-in-law, Edward and Dorothy Pitts, Cornelia, Clifton and Marie Pitts, Cornelia, Bruce and Judy Pitts, Mt. Airy, and Swain and Sandy Pitts, Mt. Airy; 18 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, and ten great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Pitts was the last of her immediate family. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Monday, December 31, 2012, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin with Rev. Ray Turpen officiating. Interment will follow in the Welcome Home Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3-6 p.m. on Sunday, December 30, 2012, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin.
