Velda Sue Ledford

Velda "Sue" Ledford, age 60, of Gainesville, GA, died Friday, June 02, 2006 at a private care facility. Mrs. Ledford was born on April 6, 1946 in Clay County, NC. She was a daughter and of late Ted and Gala Smith Thomas and was also preceded in death by two brothers, Dean Thomas and Frank Thomas as well as three sisters, Helen Garrett, Nellie Thomas, and Vernie Godwin. She was a homemaker and a member of the Victory Baptist Church. Survivors include: her daughters and sons-in-law: Betty Sue and Ricky Wilson, Cleveland, GA; Judy Ledford and Scott Harris, Clermont, GA; her sister: Wanda Burrell, Folkston, GA; her brothers: Terry Thomas, Gillsville, GA; Loy Thomas, Hiawassee, GA; Troy Thomas and Gene Thomas, both of Greensboro, NC; Duane Thomas, Dalton, GA; Grandchildren: LeAnne Woodcock and Caleb Harris. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 4, 2006 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, with Rev. Don Pruitt officiating. Burial will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday and from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour on Sunday.
