Van Mack Thompson

VAN MACK THOMPSON, age 67, of Baldwin, Georgia passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2014. Mr. Thompson was born on July 5, 1946 in Elijay, Georgia; son of the late Hershel and Mary Bramlett Thompson. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Dewey Thompson; sisters, Ruth Rogers, Jewel Dalton and Roseline Thompson. Mr. Thompson was a retired heavy duty equipment operator with the GDOT and was a member of Living Faith Sanctuary. Survivors include his sisters, Barbara Cook, Calhoun, GA, Jo Serritt, Fairmount, GA; brother, Troy Thompson, Adairsville, GA; several nieces and nephews; and a close friend, Randy Willis. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia with Rev. Olivia Christopherson and Evangelist Morris Patrick, Sr., officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.
