Troy Skelton

TROY SKELTON, age 65, of Mt. Airy, Georgia passed away on Friday, December 10, 2010. Mr. Skelton was born to the late Curtis Lee and Annie Bell Canup Skelton on November 7, 1945, in Habersham County, Georgia. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Harold Skelton. Mr. Skelton was a retired truck driver with 40 years of service. He was of the Baptist Faith. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Nix Skelton, Mt. Airy, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, James and Debbie Skelton, Clarkesville, GA and Jason and Amanda Skelton, Mt. Airy, GA; brothers, Lamar Skelton, Clarkesville, GA, Bruce Skelton, Cleveland, GA, and Jerry Skelton, also of Cleveland, GA; and 3 grandchildren, Bruce Skelton, Jay Skelton, and Annabelle Skelton. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 13, 2010, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia with Rev. Robert Nix and Rev. J.D. Sosebee officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens with Rev. Truitt Simmermon officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, December 12, 2010, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia.
