TROY BAKER, age 74, of Cornelia, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2014. Mr. Baker was born on June 13, 1940 in Homer, GA to the late Ed and Ruth Sims Baker. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Rhonda Land. Mr. Baker was a member of Fairfield Baptist Church, where he enjoyed playing harmonicas. He was retired and formerly employed with Fieldale Farms with 27 years of service. Mr. Baker was employed with Whitfield Funeral Homes with 20 years of service. He had a great personality and loved being with people. He was a member and past Master of Cornelia Lodge #92 F & A. M. Survivors include his loving wife of 39 ½ years, Patsy Sosebee Baker, Cornelia, GA; daughters and sons in law, Teresa and Fred Justice, Mt. Airy, GA, Penny and Dennis Sosebee, Alto, GA; son and daughter in law, Tony and Melissa Baker, Gainesville, GA; sister and brother in law, Bonnie and Larry Crocker, Baldwin, GA; sister, Rose Coffee, Alto, GA; brother and sister in law, Winford and Phyllis Baker, Homer, GA; grandchildren, Shane Caudell, Melanie Justice, Justin Dunagan, P. J. Ellis, Payton Baker, Taylor Baker; great grandchildren, Kaylee Rice, Jace Caudell, Miles Ellis. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm on Friday, October 10, 2014 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia with Rev. Keith Allison and Rev. Austin Kelley officiating. Entombment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Thursday, October 9, 2014. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fairfield Baptist Church, 2236 Hwy 105, Demorest, GA 30535.
