Tommy Edward Garrish, age 81, of Alto, GA passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2010 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Hall County, GA. Mr. Garrish was born on November 22, 1928, in Hall County, GA to the late Vadie Wilkerson and Cora Belle Chastain Garrish. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dovie Crocker Garrish; 3 sisters; and 2 brothers. Mr. Garrish was a retired poultry farmer of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Roger Love, Athens, GA and Margaret Willette and Randall Liles, Alto, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Edward and Judy Garrish, Alto, GA and William and Frances Garrish, also of Alto, GA; sisters, Mae Campbell, Lula, GA, Ruby Butler, Lula, GA, and Hazel Brown, Roanoke, Virginia; 10 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 1, 2010, at Rock Springs Baptist Church, Rock Springs Road, Banks County, GA with Dr. Bart McMillan and Rev. Kenneth McEntire officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. on Tuesday, August 31, 2010, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, GA.
