MR. THOMAS WILLIAM BRUNS, SR., age 67, and MRS. LILLIE MAE BRUNS, age 74, of Baldwin, Georgia passed away on Monday, November 15, 2010 as a result of injuries they sustained in an automobile accident. Thomas, Sr. was born in Montgomery, Ohio on February 25, 1943, a son of the late Elmer August and Geraldine Hazel Dill Bruns. He was retired after 20 years of service with Scovill Manufacturing Inc., and was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Bruns. Mr. Bruns enjoyed working in his garage with his automobiles, was an avid hunter, and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. Lillie Mae was born in Habersham County, Georgia on March 16, 1936, a daughter of the late William and Martha Burton Worley. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Lilienthail. Mr. and Mrs. Bruns were married for 37 years. They always enjoyed vacationing together, helping others in need, and most importantly, loved spending time with their family. They will be deeply missed by their family, friends, and all who knew them. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Melanie and Gerald Bellinger, Clarkesville, GA; Carol and Maurice Summers, Oklahoma City, OK; sons and daughters-in-law, Tom, Jr. and Donna Bruns, Clarkesville, GA; Michael and Judy Bruns, Demorest, GA; grandchildren, Samantha and Brandy Bellinger, Clarkesville, GA; Amy Griggs, Toccoa, GA; Melissa Ivester, Gainesville, GA; Nicole Bell, Lawrenceville, GA; Cody Bruns, Baldwin, GA; Levi Bruns, Clarkesville, GA; Jeremy Doss, Clarkesville, GA; Joshua Doss, Buford, GA; Jasmine Summers, Oklahoma City, OK; Justin Morgan, Lee Sears, both of Toccoa, GA; Eugene Bell, Valdosta, GA; 8 great-grandchildren; Mr. Bruns' brother, Harold Bruns, Ohio; Mrs. Bruns' sisters and brothers, Argie Ayers, FL; Daisy Pemberton, Elvin Worley, and John Worley, all of Ohio; several nieces, nephews, and friends. Joint funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 18, 2010, from the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA with the Rev. Grady Walden officiating. Interment will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the North Chapel from 6-9 p.m. on Wednesday.
