Thomas Leon Sellers

Thomas Leon Sellers, age 80, of Mt. Airy, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Habersham Medical Center. Mr. Sellers was born on May 25, 1935 in Mt. Airy, Georgia to the late Thomas R. and Lizzie Mae Sellers. He was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Sellers was a veteran of The United States Army. He was self-employed as a logger, and was also employed with Chicopee, a division of Johnson and Johnson. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Buddy Sellers; Frank Sellers; and sister, Willie Mae Sellers. Survivors include his wife, Clara M. Sellers, of Mt. Airy; daughter Deborah Bowling, of Mt. Airy; sisters, Julia Hermanson, of Macon; Jane Merck, of Eatonton; Carolyn Sanders, of Mt. Airy; brothers, Joe Sellers, of Mt. Airy; Jim Sellers, of Demorest; grandchild and spouse, Kellie and J.R. Blue; great grandchildren, Claire Blue; and Stetson Blue. Funeral Services are scheduled for 3:30 p.m., Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel with Rev. Billy Burrell and Rev. William Baker to officiate. Interment will follow in Hazel Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2015.
