THOMAS R. FOWLER, age 69, of Lula, Georgia, formerly of Cornelia, Georgia passed away on Monday, December 23, 2013 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness. Mr. Fowler was born on August 10, 1944 in Cumming, Georgia; son of the late Joe and Ruth Tate Fowler. He was also preceded in death by his son, Jason Fowler and brother, Chesley Fowler. Mr. Fowler was a maintenance man and a "Handy Man" Survivors include the mother of his children, Vickie Burnette, Lula; daughter, Karen Barnes, Lula, sons, Douglas Fowler, Gainesville, Brian Fowler, Lula; sisters, Betty Cox, Cumming, Tilly Hester, Cumming; brothers, Paul Fowler, Demorest, Ron Bennett, Cumming; grandchildren, Dustin Barnes, Hannah Barnes, Tyler Barnes, T.C. Fowler, Cheynne Fowler, Ashley Fowler, Cortney Fowler and four great-grandchildren. No formal funeral services will be held. The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. on Friday, December 27, 2013 at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia.
