Thomas Watson Hooper

Thomas W. Hooper, age 87, of Demorest, Georgia passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025.

Mr. Hooper was born on August 2, 1937 in Chamblee, Georgia to the late Thomas Grant and Fannie Lee Dorsey Hooper. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Willie Mae Hooper; sisters, Frances Dickerson, Betty Parrish, Lera Mae Black; brothers, Paul Richard Hooper. Barney Hooper, Harold Hooper, and Fred Hooper. Mr. Hooper was the last of his immediate family.

Mr. Hooper attended Trinity Full Gospel Church. He had retired from Lee Arendelle Correctional Institute, where he had served as a correctional officer.

Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas Keith and Diane Hooper, of Clarkesville; William Eugene and Susie Hooper, of Demorest; Tony Randall and Kristie Hooper, of Cleveland; six grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel with Pastor Dennis Taylor and Pastor John Henry Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, January 20, 2025 at the funeral home.
