Thelma L. Turk Berg

THELMA L. TURK BERG, age 84, of Demorest, Georgia, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2013, at Habersham Medical Center. Mrs. Berg was born on February 26, 1928, in Apopka, Florida; daughter of the late William Guy Turk, II and Katie Wilson Turk. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Albert Edward Berg; son Charles Berg; sisters, Jeanette Hodges, Mildred Adams, and Juanita Brakebill; and brother, William Guy Turk, III. Mrs. Berg was a member of Central Alliance C&MA. In addition to being a very dedicated homemaker, she was a retired library assistant in Orange County, Florida. Survivors include her daughter, Debbie Findley, Demorest, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Steve Petrakos, Demorest, GA; grandchildren, Tim Findley, Robin Findley, Pamela Dalton, Jennifer Burris, Stephanie Pisto, and David Petrakos; and five great-grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 1, 2013, at the V.F.W. Cemetery with Carter Miller officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. before the service on Friday at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia.
