TERRY LEE PURCELL, age 64, of Gainesville, Georgia formerly of Habersham County passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2013. Mr. Purcell was born on July 8, 1949, in Stephens County, Georgia; son of Carolyn Whitfield Purcell of Mt. Airy and the late Curtis Lee Purcell. He was a 1967 graduate of South Habersham High School and a graduate of Bob Jones University. Mr. Purcell was a Veteran of the United States Army stationed in Germany and was a former Public Works Director of Habersham County Government. He was a member of Grace Community Church. Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Smith Purcell; daughters, Abigail Ellena Purcell, Baldwin and Hannah Carolyn Ruth Purcell, Baldwin; son, Caleb Curtis Purcell, Baldwin; brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Cheryl Purcell, Mt. Airy; six nieces and three nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Westminster PCA, 1397 Thompson Bridge Road, Gainesville, Georgia with Pastor Tom May and Pastor Ray Rhodes officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens, Demorest, Georgia, with full military honors provided by the Georgia National Guard, the Grant Reeves VFW Post #7720, the Habersham County American Legion Post #84, and the Rabun County DAV Chapter #15. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, October 25, 2013 at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia and from 12:30-1:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Westminster PCA in Gainesville. In lieu of flowers may be made to: Westminster PCA for Purcell children, 1397 Thompson Bridge Road, Gainesville, GA 30501.
