Talmadge Davis Echols

TALMADGE DAVIS ECHOLS, age 87, of Alto, GA, died Thursday, July 27, 2006 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Mr. Echols was born on August 29, 1918 in Hall County, GA to the late Timothy D. and Cordelia Duncan Echols. He was also preceded in death by a brother: James Echols, sisters: Beulah Tribble and Lois Sims. Mr. Echols was employed by Bell Bomber during World War II and retired as a poultry farmer and peach grower. He was a foster parent for many years. Mr. Echols was a member of Enon Baptist Church and a member of the Lula Masonic Lodge. Survivors include: his wife of 60 years, Rachel Saxon Echols, Alto, GA, two sons and daughters-in-law: Phillip D. and Sharon Echols and Clay and Joy Echols all of Alto, GA, two brothers: George Echols and Clyde Echols both of Alto, GA, four grandchildren: April Simpson, Bethlehem, GA, Theron Echols, Kalen Echols, Jeffrey Echols all of Alto, GA, and one great-grandson: Eli Tate Simpson of Bethlehem, GA. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 29, 2006 at Enon Baptist Church with the Rev, Loyd Martin and Rev. Paul Morris officiating. Rev. Roy Lee Mitchell will be officiating at the graveside. Burial will follow in the Enon Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home after 2:00 P.M. Friday, July 28, 2006. ARRANGEMENTS ARE IN THE CARE OF WHITFIELD FUNERAL HOME, SOUTH CHAPEL, BALDWIN, GEORGIA.
