Susie Belle Norton

Susie Belle Norton, age 75, of Cornelia, GA, died Friday, February 13, 2009 at her residence. Mrs. Norton was born on January 4, 1934 in Banks County, Georgia to the late Howard and Hattie Chitwood Martin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rass Norton, her daughter, Virginia Elaine Moore, her brothers, Charles Martin and James Clifford Martin, as well as a sister, Marie Fowler. Mrs. Norton attended Alto Congregational Holiness Church and had previously worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant before retirement. Survivors include: her daughter: Ann Norton, Cornelia, GA; her son and daughter-in-law: Ronnie and Janet Norton, Baldwin, GA; her sister: Frances Knight, Cornelia, GA; her brothers: Jack Martin and Curtis Martin, both of Cornelia, GA; Robert Martin, Gainesville, GA; Lewis Martin, Cornelia, GA; her grandchildren: Ellen McMillian, Rodney Foster, Joel Norton, Jason Norton, and Elaina "Coco" Ramirez; 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 15, 2009 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia with Rev. Ronnie Norton, Rev. Wes Davis, and Rev. Tim Beasley officiating. Interment will follow in the Level Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 until 4 and 6 until 9 p.m. on Saturday.
