Susanna "Susie" Harris York

Susanna "Susie" Harris York, age 86, of Clarkesville, Georgia went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, January 12, 2021. Mrs. York was born on May 11, 1934 in Habersham County, Georgia to the late Roscoe and Bertha Harris. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.V. York; siblings and their spouses, Sarah and Amos Ferguson; George Harris; Elizabeth and Bevis Simmons; Robert Harris. Mrs. York was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Clarkesville. She retired from Mount Vernon Mills with over 30 years of dedicated service. Susie was a wonderful caregiver, cook, aunt, and friend. Survivors include her sisters-in-law, Gay Harris, of Demorest; Elizabeth "Lisa" Harris, of Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 15, 2021 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel with Rev. Milton Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.
