Sue Whitfield Moore, age 73, of Mt. Airy, GA, died Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at Oak Heritage Healthcare. Mrs. Moore was born on March 14, 1936 in Banks County, Georgia to the late Hubert and Gertrude Caudell Whitfield. She was a member of the Hazel Creek Baptist Church and had taught Children's Sunday School for many years at her church. Mrs. Moore was a homemaker. Survivors include: her husband: Lynn Moore, Mt. Airy, GA; her daughter: Sharon Hollis, Mt. Airy, GA; her daughters and sons-in-law: Angela and Roger Blair, Mt. Airy, GA; Mary and Chris McNairy, Athens, AL; her son and daughter-in-law: Tim and Helen Moore, Clarkesville, GA; her sisters: Carolyn Purcell, Mt. Airy, GA; Wansa Purcell, Genell Williams, and Linda Poole, All of Homer, GA; her brothers: James Whitfield, Mt. Airy, GA; Gary Whitfield, Homer, GA; Lamar Whitfield, Clarkesville, GA; 8 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2009 from the Hazel Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Trent Smith and Rev. Billy Burrell officiating. Interment will follow in the Hazel Creek Church Cemetery with Rev. Jesse Colbert officiating at the graveside. The family will receive at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to the Hazel Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 243 Hazel Creek Church Road, Mt. Airy, GA 30563. Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia.
