Stella Burton Cook

STELLA BURTON COOK, age 85, of Alto, Georgia, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2015 at The Oaks at Scenic View. Mrs. Cook was born on April 19, 1929 in Franklin County, Georgia to the late Grover and Estelle Savage Burton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lee Dorsey Cook; son-in-law, Bud Tyler; daughter-in-law, Jo Cook; sisters, Bunch Beard, Carolyn Ramey; brothers, Harley Burton, Joe Burton, Ulysses Savage. Mrs. Cook was of the Baptist faith. She was retired from Mount Vernon Mills with 20 years of service. Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Tyler, Alto, GA; son, James Cook, Clarkesville, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Wiley and Vickie Cook, Baldwin, GA; grandchildren, Willard Cook, Shane Cook, Toby Tyler, Eric Cook, Amber Savage; great-grandchildren, Paige Cook, Hunter Tyler, Ryan Ranel, Chase Cook. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia with Rev. Raymond Payne and Rev. Harrill Millsaps officiating. Interment will follow in the Wade Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2015.
