Stanley Alan Plum

STANLEY ALAN PLUM, age 62, of Alto, Georgia passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2013, following a brief illness. Mr. Plum was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on August 29, 1950. He was the son of the late William G. "Bill" Plum. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Wayne Plum. Mr. Plum was a veteran of the United States Army having served his country in the Vietnam conflict. He retired as a self employed welder fabricator. Survivors include his mother, June Plum, Alto; daughter and son-in-law, Shana and Jeffrey Tanksley, Mt. Airy; son and daughter-in-law, William and Christie Plum, Louisiana; sisters, Candice E. Plum, Alto, and Sylvia H. Dillon, San Diego, CA; and three grandchildren, Chesney Tanksley, Haley Plum and Peyton Plum. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, August 12, 2013, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia with Rev. Steve Doran officiating. Interment will follow in Alto Congregational Holiness Church Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Georgia National Guard and Habersham County American Legion Post #84, Rabun County DAV Chapter 15, and the Grant Reeves VFW Post #7720. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. on Sunday, August 11, 2013, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia.
