S.T. Goss, Sr.

S.T. GOSS, SR., age 84, of Clarkesville, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2012, at a private care facility in Hiawassee, Georgia. Mr. Goss was born on February 28, 1928, in Habersham County, Georgia; son of the late Burns and Lila Bell Goss. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Lorene Collins Goss; son, S.T. Goss, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Jeanette Goss; and brothers, T.B. Goss and C.T. Goss. S.T. was a retired farmer and a member of Stonepile Baptist Church. In his earlier years, he enjoyed his fox and coon hunting and had many hunting buddies. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Larry Mize, Clarkesville, GA; daughter-in-law, Violet Goss, Clarkesville, GA; son, Charles Goss, Gainesville, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Becky Goss, Clarkesville, GA; brother, J.T. Goss, Clarkesville, GA; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2012, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia, with Rev. Connie Berry and Rev. Paris Whitworth officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, November 2, 2012, at the funeral home.
