Sarah Juanita Gailey Thomas, age 83, of Jonesboro, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2017. Mrs. Thomas was born on May 12, 1933 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late Rosco and Sarah Myers Gailey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Roy W. Thomas; three brothers and two sisters. She was the last of her immediate family. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Carlene and Danny Zant, of Griffin, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Royce and Janet Thomas, of Lawrenceville, GA; grandchildren, Wil Hix, Darlene Siegel, Rebecca Michaels, Kimberly Williams; great-grandchildren, Stephanie Williams, Emily Williams, Thomas Williams, and Hannah Michaels. Graveside Services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Mount Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel prior to the service.
