SARA LASETER SCOGGINS, age 92, of Clarkesville, GA, died Saturday, January 13, 2007 at a private care facility. Mrs. Scoggins was born on October 9, 1914 to the late Geneva and William Laseter in Griffin, Georgia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Richard L. Scoggins, her sister, Helen Mauney, and her brother, James Laseter. Mrs. Scoggins was devoted to her family and enjoyed sewing, cooking, and volunteer work. She was famous for her homemade caramel cake. Mrs. Scoggins was a member of the Cornelia Presbyterian Church. Survivors include: her daughter and son-in-law: Mary Kathryn and Robert Daffin, Panama City, FL; her son and daughter-in-law: Richard, Jr. and Susan Scoggins, Guntersville, AL; Grandson, Richard, III "Velvet" Scoggins and great-grandchildren, Hannah, Gracie, and Billy Scoggins all of Richland, GA. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2007 from the Yonah Memorial Gardens with Rev. Blaine Walker officiating. The family will receive friends at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, from 4 to 6 p.m. on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cornelia Presbyterian Church P.O. Box 165, Cornelia, GA 30531. ARRANGEMENTS ARE IN THE CARE OF WHITFIELD FUNERAL HOME, NORTH CHAPEL, DEMOREST, GEORGIA.
