Sara Christine Williams Hoyt

Sara "Christine" WILLIAMS HOYT, age 83, of Atlanta, GA, passed away February 6, 2007 resulting from a fall, and has gone home to our Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. She was born July 29, 1923 in Clermont, GA to the late Dr. George Williams, and the late Fannie Sarah Jackson Williams. She was the 3rd of six children. She graduated from Chattahoochee High School, Clermont, GA. During WWII she worked in a parachute factory at which time she met and later married on 12-25-1945 the late, Clarence HOYT of Fort Ann, NY. They made their home briefly in Granville NY then later in Gainesville, GA where she also worked as sales clerk at Roses Department Store. In the early 1960's they made their permanent home in Atlanta/Chamblee, GA area. They had no children, but Aunt Christine raised many. She was an avid gardener, busy seamstress, voracious reader, and a friend to all. She was a member of the Northwoods Baptist Church. She retired from Woolworth's as a sales clerk in baby clothing. She leaves to cherish her memory by her beloved sister, Mary Frances Roberts and Howard Sanford, caregiver of Atlanta, GA. Her brother, Richard Williams (Janet), Clermont, GA. Two sisters-in-law: Estelle Williams, Dahlonega, GA and Christine Williams, Marietta, GA. Her nieces, Sherry Willard (Jimmie), Hoschton, GA; Teresa Smith (James), Loganville, GA; Arlene Bray (Roy), Toccoa, GA. Nephew: Carl "Bunker" Puckett, Atlanta, GA; Grand nephews: Samuel Hatfield, Atlanta, GA; Rickey Bray, Atlanta, GA; Caregiver: Sara Rodriguez Juarez (Carlos), Doraville, GA; and a host of wonderful and cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins from GA to NY and beyond. Christine had the most genuine and heartfelt friends anyone could ever hope for. They came with a fantastic story as she loved each and every one of them with great conviction. A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 14, 2007 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, 1370 Industrial Blvd, Baldwin, GA 30511 (706-778-7123). Interment will follow in Jackson Family Cemetery, off Hwy 63, Martin Bridge Rd, Carnesville, GA.
