SABRINA SWANSON, age 45, of Cornelia, GA, died Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at her residence. Sabrina Swanson was born on May 29, 1961 on Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines. Sabrina was a 1979 Graduate of the Habersham Central High School, followed by a degree from DeVry Institute of Technology. Actively involved with the children and youth ministries, she was a member of the Cornelia United Methodist Church. Sabrina had a great love for people and for her community. This love was especially evident in the passion and commitment she had for the Circle of Hope Ministries. She actively participate in raising funds for the ministry thru auctions of hope chests decorated by local artists in the "Hope Chests and More" program that she initiated. She served as Ward 3 Commissioner in the City of Cornelia from July 2000 to December 2001. Sabrina was a Realtor with Century 21 Realty. . She was preceded in death by her grandparents, H. M Stewart, Sr. and Helen Stewart, and Dean L. Swanson and Laurene Grace Swanson Survivors include: her parents: Dean Charles and Kay Stewart Swanson, Cornelia, GA; her daughter: Kaylee Candice Grant, Cornelia, GA; her son: Alexander Keith Mixon, Atlanta, GA; her brothers: Christopher Charles Swanson and Dean Stewart Swanson, both of Alpharetta, GA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 27, 2007 from the Cornelia United Methodist Church with Rev. Charles Green officiating. Burial will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Circle of Hope, P.O. Box 833, Cornelia, GA 30531 or to the Cornelia United Methodist Church, 275 Wyly Street, Cornelia, GA 30531. ARRANGEMENTS ARE IN THE CARE OF WHITFIELD FUNERAL HOME, SOUTH CHAPEL, BALDWIN, GEORGIA.
