Ruth Deamie Parson Ward

Ruth Deamie Parson Ward, age 81, of Alto, GA passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2010. Mrs. Ward was born in Habersham County, GA on July 28, 1929, to the late Purvie Benton and Milda Dale Parson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Wayne Allen Ward, sisters, Louise Thompson, and brother, Harold Parson. She was a long standing member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Demorest, where she enjoyed serving on numerous committees and helping with activities. Mrs. Ward was a homemaker, and a highly devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Survivors include her husband, Clyde Ward, Alto, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Jerry Reddish, Demorest, GA; daughter-in-law, Barbara Ward, Clarkesville, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Dale and Lorie Ward, Homer, GA, Ronnie and Kay Ward, Alto, GA, Ricky and Cindy Ward, Alto, GA; sister, Isabell Oliver, Alto, GA, Ethelene Roberts, Bronson, FL, Joyce Parker, Clermont, GA, Margaret Oliver, Clermont, GA; brother, Hoyt Parson, Alto, GA; 15 Grandchildren, and 19 Great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 7, 2010, from the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Demorest, GA with Rev. Russ Barker and Dr. Charles Holland officiating. Interment will follow in the Calvary's Cross Baptist Church, Clermont, GA with Rev. Charles Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 -4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 6, 2010, at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, GA.
