Ruth Hembree Turner

RUTH HEMBREE TURNER, age 96, of Cornelia, Georgia passed away Thursday, December 23, 2010 Mrs. Turner was born on December 16, 1914, in Easley, South Carolina to the late James Anthony and Serena Beatrice Whitworth Hembree. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Guy Turner and her son, Rev. Bo Turner. Mrs. Turner was a retired textile worker and a member of First Baptist Church of Cornelia, Georgia. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Earl Roberts, Cornelia, GA and Jeri and Bobby Massey, Cornelia, GA; brother Calvin Hembree, Greenville, SC; 8 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 26, 2010 at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA with Dr. Kenneth Franklin and Pastor Eric Spivey officiating. Burial will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:45 p.m. on Sunday, December 26, 2010 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA just before the funeral services.
