Ruth E. Hill

Ruth E. Hill, age 86, of Clarkesville, Georgia, formerly of Urbana, Illinois, passed away on Monday, August 29, 2011, at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Hill was born on August 16, 1925, in Champaign, Illinois, to the late Keith R. and Wilma Creek Wilson. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Cheryl Patton. She was a retired train master's clerk with Illinois Central Gulf with 40 years of dedicated service. Mrs. Hill was a member of the Clarkesville First United Methodist Church. Survivors include her loving husband, Arthur E. "Gene" Hill, Clarkesville, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Andra and Dr. Thomas Knecht, Clarkesville, GA; step-son, Phillip Patton, Los Angeles, CA; sister, Margaret Robertson, Brevard, NC; brother, Robert Wilson, Seattle, WA; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 9, 2011, at the Clarkesville First United Methodist Church with Rev. Phillip DeMore officiating.
