Ruth Vaughn Cotton

RUTH VAUGHN COTTON, age 78, of Cornelia, Georgia, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2009 at her residence. Mrs. Cotton was born in Banks County, on November 11, 1931 to the late Dock and Mae Coker Vaughn. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Randy Ramsey, daughter-in-law, Sandreal Cotton, brother, Joe and Bryant Vaughn. Mrs. Cotton was a member at Baldwin Baptist Church and a member of the Joy Club, of the Church. She retired as a Lab Technician with Ethicon Inc., a Johnson and Johnson Company, with 29 years of service. Mrs. Cotton was a member of the 25 year club of Ethicon and was on the Board of Johnson and Johnson Retirees. Survivors include her husband of 59 years William J. "Dub" Cotton, Cornelia; daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Hank Crump, Baldwin; daughter, Connie Ramsey, Cornelia; sons, Donald and Steve Cotton, both of Cornelia; sister, Genell Carlan, Homer, brother, Olin Vaughn, Homer, 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin with Rev. Terry Rice and Rev. Frank Sailers officiating. Burial will follow in Nail Creek Church Cemetery with Rev. Don Blalock officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8p.m, on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin.
