Ruby Lockman Roberts

RUBY LOCKMAN ROBERTS, age 87, of Clarkesville, GA, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2009 following a period of declining health. Born in Jackson County, GA on July 17, 1921, Mrs. Roberts was the daughter of the late John Wesley and Mellie Thomas Lockman and was a member of the Cool Springs United Methodist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, W. Gartrell Roberts, on March 13, 2009, and by brothers, Grady Lockman and Buford Lockman, and sisters, Mrs. Clyde (Bonnie) Allen and Mrs. Fred (Mary Lee) Waters. Survivors include: son and daughter-in-law: Phillip and Janice Roberts, Demorest, GA; daughters and sons-in-law: Carolyn and Charles Church, Demorest, GA; Annette and Tommy Fricks, Mt. Airy, GA; grandson: Phil Roberts and granddaughter and spouse, Cheryl and Daryl McDuffie, Clarkesville, GA; grandsons and spouses: Todd and Natalie Fricks and Trent and Christy Fricks, all of Mt. Airy, GA; four great-grandchildren: Dustin Fricks, Dawson Fricks, Carlin Fricks and Camryn Fricks; sister-in-law: Lillie Mae Lockman, Clarkesville, GA. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia with the Rev. Steve McIntyre and the Rev. Charles Black officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the North Chapel from 3 until 5 p.m. and from 7 until 9 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19, 2009.
